Discussion of October 2017 update

He was referring to the recently added extra sheet of proofgrade draftboard that is being sent. You’re supposed to set it aside so you always have proofgrade material available for troubleshooting purposes.

Well, at least it does say “estimated”.

@dan,

I sent an email to support@glowforge.com on Sunday night (10/14) inquiring about the status of my Glowforge and why its estimated date has been pushed out to March 2018 even though I ordered my Glowforge Basic w/ Air Filter on 9/25/15. It’s now 10/20, and I still have not received anything more than an automated reply on Sunday saying that a support ticket was created and support would get back to me within 3 business days (and they’ll try to do it sooner). Yes, I’ve checked my spam filter.

Your October update on 10/4 also claimed that more information would be sent out via email a week later. It’s been over two weeks now, and I have yet to receive an email.

I’ve waited two years—I can wait a bit longer, but the estimated date of March is a bit much, especially given how early I ordered. If I knew that waiting for the air filter would delay my Glowforge to March 2018, I would’ve chosen not to wait for the air filter.

Dan, if you could please get someone on support to look into this, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks!

You should post this to Problems & Support in a new thread or an email direct to Support with Dan on copy as he may not see it buried in this thread.

I’m sorry you didn’t get a reply! Someone from @rita’s team will get back to you shortly. If you could open a new topic in Problems & Support, that will ensure they can reply if for some reason our emails aren’t getting through.

october 2016?

Dan,

I will be moving between when my GF ships and the airfilter unit ships, months later. Will a fresh e-mail be sent out then?

October 2015

Yes, it will.

I was really worried as well, but I did receive my GF basic last week, and it’s amazing. I am just a regular person, not a celebrity or connected in any way, so customers ARE really getting them, and I will say I am so pleased it exceeded my high expectations. Hope this offers some hope, it would be insane to cancel at this point, look at the new pricing, I couldn’t justify paying so much more now. It’s also a LOT less expensive than the competitors 40 watt. I also think the proof grade is fantastic now that I have it.

I purchased Oct. 20, 2015
Laser estimate is Nov. 29, 2017
Air filter estimate is May 4, 2018

Pro or Basic?

Basic

Yikes. I ordered on the 23rd and I’m not scheduled to get my email until Jan. 16th. So, there is a month and a half difference in delivery on orders placed from the 20th to the 23rd. That makes me think that my Jan. 16th will likely become Mar. 16th somewhere around Jan. 9th. Oh well… sigh

I ordered my pro on the 19th (mid-day on day 26). I’m supposed to get the golden ticket email this Friday, but I thought I heard they are running about 3-4 days behind on their estimates, so expect my email by next Wednesday.

I’m hoping to have my pro by Thanksgiving. I’m on the east coast, so that might be pushing it.

FYI. Mine… Purchase date: 9/29/2015 (Day 6) Golden ticket/email: 10/5/2017 Proof grade sample kit arrival date: 10/18/2017 (US) Shipping/tracking info/email: Not yet, Pro.

3 weeks would be the end of this week. Many people have said they didn’t get tracking info until the day it arrived and recommend signing up for UPS my choice.

@dan - “Your estimated date will be updated regularly.” Perhaps you can help us out and clarify/translate what this means in GlowForge English (which we have demonstrated repeatedly is a different language from the English that your community uses). It is 10/24/2017; my estimated Shipping Notification Date is 10/20/2017 - still says that on the site. No email received. No update on the site as to when I should expect the email, since it obviously didn’t happen on estimated date.

Yet another failed promise.

[Checked this evening, and the date was updated to 10/24/2017 - and the email had arrived].
