So, the lid hinge on my Pro separated from the crappy glue that the Glowforge people put on their hinge.
I replaced the hinge and reglued the door, but I am STILL getting the Lid Open message. Ive now replaced the three-lead lid cable… still, “Lid Open” plagues me.
Has anyone gone through this many replacement steps and still had issues? I feel like pulling out my hair.
Did you see if you can clear the message with magnets? If you can clear it with magnets, then the lid isn’t properly seated, i think. Sometimes i will get the message when i think the lid is closed an there is actually a small chunk of debris keeping it from sitting flush. If magnets don’t do the trick, then maybe a call to support can narrow down the issue for you.
The message temporarily switched to, “Centering”… and then went back to giving me the Lid Open message.
Support has been, quite frankly, a huge let down. After having been ‘escalated’ to a senior person… they sent me a copy / paste of forum info that is generic and Im fairly certain AI generated, which is extremely frustrating given the price tag of this machine.
