Nice writeup. There have been other fusion tile projects discussed before, my question is always about the air assist fan: how do you keep the powder from blowing away?
Maybe a good use case for fan reducers?
Disclaimer: If you are unsure of either of the following:
“why would you want to do this?”
“what problems could this cause?”
… then turn around and walk away, this isn’t for you (I am only half kidding!)
The bottom line is that this may elevate your fire risk, reduce your air assist fan life, or cause a change to the fumes generated by your cuts. It may not do these things too, there’s just not enough data to say for sure either way. I’ve been using them for some time wit…
Edit: found one of the previous discussions.
I have always been looking for ways to put images on glass, sandblasting, decals, enamels etc. There is a product, Glassline, that is for glass and ceramics. It is not design for paint as such, but more for line drawing. It fires from 1300 to 1500 degrees. You can use it in a airbrush to get nice even coating and that is what I did for these projects. I was expecting for fail big time when I first tried, but to my surprise the laser actually fused the paint to the glass with not fumes …
