Engaged edges jagged

I have been doing some engraving and the egdes are jagged or it looks like there is a shadow of the engrave a couple millimeters to the side. Some parts of the engrave are fine. How do I fix this?

First, Welcome to the community!
Just guessing here, but that result would prompt me to check the belt tension of the carriage (the axis that goes left to right) compared to the tension on the belts on the left and right (that move the gantry forward and aft). Deflecting the belt midspan (the middle between the belt rollers) and see that the tension is similar.

The belt that goes side to side seems looser than the front to back ones.

Follow the instructions in the support section for correctly tensioning it.

I’m sorry that your prints aren’t turning out as expected. The advice that @PrintToLaser suggested is a good first step. You can find the instructions for how to adjust the tension for the belt under your laser arm here on our support page: How-To Instructions

Please let us know how it goes!
