Engraved Cutwork Scroll

Design from: Lace Book of Marie de’ Medici

image
The final is 8"x10"

The original was ~3.5"x5.25" and cut with a knife!
I used PaintNet to remove the text and upped the contrast until it was black and white, and then set it in the :glowforge: to engrave.

Total time was about 1hour 11 minutes

Wow, that’s gorgeous–both your version and the original! Wonder if the original took 1 year & 11 days?

Beautiful! Did you use regular prtinter paper or something heavier?

Gorgeous!

It’s a lovely piece! Now you need to do some calligraphy in there. A touch of gold leaf, too.

It’s done on a paper called Pergamenata - it feels like vellum (fine leather) - but it’s paper. This is their heavy weight 230gsm, approximately the same weight as 85lb paper…but not at all similar in feel
