Estimated Time Without GlowForge Being Turned On

Is there any plans in the development road map to add a “Time Estimated” to see how long a project would take prior to actually performing it?

User Story: As a user, I would like to be able to load my file, define the material to be used, set parameters (speed, power, grey scale, etc…) and be given an estimated time it would take to generate the product without the GlowForge being turned on to generate this information as is required today.

This has been asked before and put into “the hopper” (the feature request list) but no commitment.

Doesn’t hurt to ask again.

The problem as I see it is that it costs GF to run the processing in the cloud, but I wouldn’t expect enough people would use this for it to make much difference.

Thank you for the consideration. Would a poll of the user community help drive a decision regarding this feature request? I can drive it :stuck_out_tongue:

Nope.

It’s hardly “in demand” and it’s been requested for years.

That’s a great idea for a feature - thanks for the suggestion! We haven’t announced anything like that yet, but I’m going to send it to our product team with a note that it came from a customer request.
