I thought that was an image of Frank, but didn’t want to run the risk of offending you by asking

I wouldn’t be offended by the association. :sunglasses:
Wasn’t a huge fan of his music, but my brother-in-law in the audio business was a rabid fan.
A friend of his was in Switzerland and brought him the poster I referred to.
I did a bronze belt buckle etching of the image for him, which fit his personality - like Frank, he will speak his mind regardless. (that comes across in the image!)
I admired Frank’s convictions, and the steadfast defense of his perspective…Although I probably would have reigned it in a bit and saddled my children with something other than “Dweezil” and “Moon unit”. :grimacing:

I also did a plasma cut of it about a foot tall, which currently hangs above @jbv’s sign “WARNING that’s all, just a warning”

This reminded me…we had a friend years ago, now deceased, who named his son Shining Mountain. Turns out that our oldest daughter has become friends with him in Portland. Who da knew…

I suffer from a lack of filter between my brain and mouth, but I have a wife that tempers that. This forum is good because I can read before I hit “reply”. I don’t know how many times I hit “delete” after writing a post. :flushed: - Rich

Oh, that takes all the fun out of it for us
But I know what you mean…many emails went to the waste bin…writing some replies out is therapeutic…as long as you don’t click on send…

But then there’s always that automatic accidental click…:fearful:

I have to be careful, when I make plans the word premeditated starts getting tossed around… :innocent:

I bought the Glowforge together with my husband. I get on the forums; but he has been behind a handful of posts, and he reads some.
So I needed an avatar that features both of us.
Moab, Utah, is the nearest town to two National Parks: Arches and Canyonlands.
I am astonished at the power and tenacity of life when I go to the desert, and I have never gotten over the sense of wonder at the powers of nature - wind, water, and time.
There are things you don’t usually notice; but that I can’t get over when I’m in a rented top-down Jeep 30 miles away from pavement.

Great shot there!

I love the Moab area. Sadly, I have only managed to get out there a handful of times.

edit: This photo was taken in Dry Fork while returning from the base of Gemeni Bridges, in May of 2006.

Never made it to Moab, but my dad and I went to Pismo Beach a couple of times with his Jeep club back when he had his.

I’ll see if I can dig up some photos when I get home.

ooooh. That’s pretty.
Makes my keyed-up muscles relax just looking at it.
You got a good shot there. Mmm hmm.

Nice photo. Not being critical here, but, as someone who has done a bit of “off-roading” in Australia, I see two vehicles driving down a dry creek bed and there’s significant cloud overhead. Just me being cautious I suppose.

Good lookin’ out… People die every year in slot canyons in the same general area, flash flooding can occur due to rain miles and miles away.
That photo as taken was actually very poor, only salvaged with some extreme adjustments and filters in post (i.e. It has been very photoshopped). It makes the sky look much meaner than reality. There was zero chance of rain that day.
I would love to get a chance to explore the outback in a 4x4 one day. Bucket list!

I am not officially a regular, but I try to read all posts. and figure that I need to read and learn from all others, so I have been in receive mode for the last 12 months since I purchased the ProGF. But I love the plane (Rutan) and thought some of your other aviators may like my avatar. I have always liked flying, and wanted to fly for the Air Force, but had one tiny issue… Color Blind. That kept me from my dream, but didn’t keep me from dreaming. I volunteer at a local museum, and they had a special day, where I was able to live a small dream. sitting in the fastest airplane in the world, and got a quick pic. Thank you for letting me share.
