Thanks! This design was building on one I’d done before, also curiously with octahedral symmetry:
As I said earlier in the OP, I wanted to see what could be done if you mixed interleaved fingers with other types of building techniques. I’m pretty happy with how it came out.

I don’t fully mock them up in 3d, so for something with this many fingers I wasn’t exactly sure how it was going to look. I knew about the hidden hexagonal symmetry so it was always possible, but it wasn’t fully intentional. I could probably tweak the design to make it very snowflakey, but I already got what I wanted out of Frosty here, so it’s probably onto something else.
