I do find that if something is opened a lot the living hinges sometimes fail. If it does (or beforehand) you can glue a piece of leather or fabric to the underside - and then even if the wood is broken it doesn’t look it and the hinges move just fine 
If you wanto get really tricksy you can replace the wood hinge with leather scored to look like a living hinge!
