Yup - all the options show up on the desktop!
Also, the cool thing about the “show water” option is, like with the issue that @stacy.mccutcheon had here, it being a different colour means you can easily set the water to engrave, and all the streets to score! Very cool

It’s a png, so you’d need to trace. I don’t love relying on tracing, it tends to be inaccurate. For this it may be enough though.
But to me it graduates from “easy” to “fiddly” pretty quickly.
Openstreetmap exports svg, but processing those was also sort of painful. This is pretty good, but the search continues for a truly easy map maker.

That is why I trace in Gimp rather than Inkscape.
