The Glowforge machine will laser cut approximately 2 inches to the right of the software design image. In other words, if design file is lined up with the camera image of material in the software, the Glowforge machine will cut 2 inches to the right of the material. How is this fixed?
Take a look here, should get you going.
Welcome to the forum.
A 2” variance from where you think the machine will cut and where it actually cuts is not normal. This can happen if the printhead is moved when the machine is turned on or if there is a problem with the carriage plate belt.
Does this happen every time you cut something? Kindly share a screenshot showing where the cut occurred compared to where the file was placed and someone will be able to help you.
Finally, it is important to note that the interface shows the usable area of the bed, not the entirety of the bed. There is a margin on the left and at the top of Proofgrade material that cannot be cut because the printhead cannot physically reach that area. Sometimes users believe they are placing their design at the left most edge of material because they think the camera view shows the edge of the material. It does not.
