I took fencing in middle school and again in college…would often get in trouble for trying to be a swashbuckler.
How could I resist…there were ropes and climbing stuff in the gym…

Hahaha, very true. I have several (Foil, Saber, Rapier, Several Broadswords, etc…) AND I trained in how to use most of them, Fencing for several years, and Historical Reenactment as a Yeoman of the Guard for an 1846 Scottish Court.

We were trained in many of the weapons they would use (Broadsword, Quarterstaff, Pike, Halberd, Claymore, Buckler, etc…) and at the time I studied up on their history so I could “teach” patrons who would come up and ask questions.

Then I got married and never went back.

My cultural refinement lies far below that of Fencing, mine is a Bat’leth. :grimacing:

SCA I assume? I haven’t done an event in ages. I was never a fighter though.
