There are several topics about ventilation. Some topics discuss the filter that one upgrade to. Others talk about possible external venting solutions, homemade or purchased. @dan_berry has one concrete recommendation about CFM.
The power consumption used by any system is not a reliable measurement of how much air the unit moves.
You really want to use a CFM measurement, regardless.
I think that something around the 120 CFM range would be plenty, especially if it’s well sealed and has good suction. And don’t forget, the GF comes with an internal fan that’s standard as part of the hose attachment. So you won’t be doing all the work with just one filter/fan.

I purchased the Basic unit and want to build an insert for my window that I can use to connect the vent hose into. So I’ve been thinking about cancelling the filter on my Glowforge and hooking it up to a Dust Collector I was going to put in a shed. I little more expensive but it will solve the workshop dust issue from the other tools (currently just using a shop vac).
