Have you reset the wifi on this machine by holding the print button until it flashes teal?
yes
Since Glowforge is the entity that transfers ownership, it could very well be that they have failed to complete the process on their end and they will have to fix something.
I wanna say thanks for hopping on here and helping. The lack of support via phone is dramatic with GF. The fact that I spent 12k on printers and can’t even connect with a real human at GF is substantial.
they’ve changed the ownership to me i guess, yet besides an email, there’s no evidence of that
Just run the setup process, and it will appear on the list of machines in the app.
There is no software to download.
i’ve tried. the only thing that mentions setup send me to a page that has me downloading a launch program. then nothing
It does seem like they haven’t transferred it properly. If it’s in your account. I’m pretty sure it shows up in the drop down whether it has been set up or not.
There IS software to download. You’re gaslighting this poor guy.
Chrome version 100 and later does not support the way Glowforge used to run the wifi setup. It can no longer be done in the browser.
If you visit the Glowforge setup link in a Chrome browser, you will be prompted to download a new software installer. The software installer is used to do the wifi setup that used to happen in a browser.
Sorry. Ignorance, not gaslighting.
That is a recent (and unfortunate) change. A friend received a refurb within the past couple of weeks and that was not the case for setup.
Huh. Good to know.
That’s seems to be an important thing that might have been included in a monthly update about major changes?
@dan
Hey everyone,
It appears that Glowforge changed ownership of both printers to me, yet didn’t set the second one up. When I’m logged in, the drop down menu for printers only shows one. I have downloaded the GF software several times yet it doesn’t launch anything that helps me set up the second printer.
What’s the solution here?
Your problem seems to be that the software isn’t working on your computer. Run it on a different computer, or set up the printer from a phone or tablet. Once you have it set up, you’ll be able to control it from any device.
Ok I’ll try another computer.
I ended up loading the setup on my phone and it worked. Thanks for the suggestion. Things appear to be up and running.
Cheers and thank you again for that final suggestion.
