I downloaded a free font and the letter i has a heart for the dot. The heart is not attached and I need to cut it as part of a name I’m cutting out. I can move letters horizontally to attach them, but how do I attach the “dot” on the letter i ? I’ve done it before but it’s been a while and I can’t remember.
You’ll be able to move the dot after you convert the text to outlines and ungroup.

If you move the dot to touch the vertical line, be sure to do a Pathfinder merge, so they are welded together into one piece. The Glowforge will not behave as you’d expect if you have separate overlapping shapes.
