Hinge replacement fixed the lid glue situation

I have recently run into the same issue with the glue on the hinge popping off. I realized the root problem was was how stiff the hinges are. And all of that force from the hinge is put on the glue. The glue had minimal coverage anyway. So I replaced the hinges with some modified door hinges so that there is no resistance to the door. I will add photos for reference in case this helps anyone else. Now the door opens farther and rests on itself in the up position. I did have to remove some of the aluminum on the back wall to let the ribbon wire stretch farther.
