How do I connect to my glowforge?

I received my glowforge yesterday and I am unclear how to connect to the glowforge program. I can use it through illustrator, correct? How do I sync the the glowforge to illustrator? Or, what do I do now that I have my glowforge?

Go to setup.glowforge.com and follow the instructions.

When you get to step 5, click the continue button, then connect your computing device to the glowforge’s ad hoc network.

No, you can not connect through AI. You upload your design using the web app. Follow the tutorials that came with it. setup.glowforge.com

I simply save my designs as a PDF and upload from the web page. You can also do SVG files but I’ve found the PDFs work just fine and you don’t have to mess with converting fonts to outlines.

Where do I find the tutorials? I only see a link that takes me to the wifi connection:

Your email will have the link to the manual, which in turn will take you through all the steps to get set up and running. Reading it through is a really good idea. Then the forum here is a fount of great knowledge and experience to answer other questions…
