How does glowforge know a project is oversized

I uploaded a large drawing onto glowforge. Its telling me that there is no artwork in the cutting area. Help

You get the No Artwork message in a couple different cases. One is that your artwork does not fit within the hashed grey areas shown on the screen in the GFUI. If you create your artwork in an artboard or document size of 20" by 12" and make sure the artwork fits within the current size limits of roughly 19.5" x 10.75"(I think; somebody will correct me here), you should have no problem. Note that the engraving area is slightly smaller than cutting area due to the need to control the laser head speed.

You can also get that message if you have not yet chosen cutting/engraving/scoring settings for an Unknown material.

Thanks for the answer @cynd11 , that’s right. I’m going to close this thread - if the problem reoccurs, go ahead and post a new topic.
