@dan Sorry to tag you Dan, We know your busy….Lol but wanted your thoughts…. Something We’ve been wondering for a while now. Can the ability to add more than one GF Cut file in the same cut field be possible? You can add as many as you want of different files you can add 1 Glowforge file and as many files as you want of other files, but you can’t add two Glowforge files in the same cut field. You have to do them completely separate, which causes some issues as far as time and having to manage two different cut screens. it could would make somethings simpler if that ability could be added. And please forgive me I may be a “fun dummy” and just not know how to do it but I have not found a way to do it yet nor has anyone that I’ve asked. Thank you for you time…
I think one of the reasons you cannot add two Glowforge files to the same print job has to do with how file designers get compensated for their files. For record keeping purposes, keeping each file separate makes sense.
@dklgood -Thank you for your advice. All is wwelcome here…lol … I understand the concept of that but where it doesn’t make sense is take the folding comb file for instance: It’s one file with 2 parts that can’t be cut together, both are small enough to fit on one run/or cut with plenty of room left, but you can’t put them together. They have to be done in 2 separate set-ups and runs… In the idea of saving time and better efficiency it makes sense to have the ability to add them to one cut/run. I’m sure they can make a way to not affect creators profits, Especially since it’s free to us anyways or included in our Premium Features…
Free to us doesn’t mean that the file creator doesn’t get money. File creators are paid based on the number of times the file is actually printed. As for making one file a single process, that is different than combining two different files. I agree it would be easier if the entire file opened as one, but when two different materials are used, it sort of makes sense that they separate the steps so users don’t accidentally print the wooden part on acrylic and waste material.
We’ll add the suggestion to the hopper!
Thank You @dan for looking out for us…It would make an awesome update and addition…TY again SIR!!!![]()
