In 2026, is PC-7 still the recommended glass lid epoxy?

My Kickstarter Basic finally hit the lid-glass-detaching problem so I need to futz with epoxies.

…I’ve searched the various past discussions going back to 2020 or thereabouts, and it seems like three epoxies are mentioned:

“five minute epoxy” – this is a category, not a specific product? Is there a preferred variant?

“JB Weld Glass” – this is not an actual product. Did folks mean JB Weld Clear? Or JB Weld Windshield Saver?

“PC-7” – this is a specific product, and several threads mention it in a positive light.

…I am aware of the eBay steel hinge solution, but seeing as this is a pretty old (well-loved) machine I’m a bit unwilling to put significant money into it when I could instead be buying various focal lenses for a different machine that isn’t reaching EOL on the tube.

I had the same thing happen and I used this solution from @krsnaday: Lid Hinge and handle reattachment

Here is the exact product I used: Amazon.com

Take the time to clean off as much of the old adhesive as you can. Get as many clamps on it as possible and let it sit overnight. Mine has held strong for almost two years now!

This isn’t super helpful but you might find it interesting:

The stuff Glowforge uses is apparently not a product that is simple for home users to work with. I just included it here as a reference and point of interest. Sounds like @msdesign1 has a solid home solution.

Easiest way IMHO
