Any idea when youā€™ll release the 2nd round? Koa is a type of wood that Iā€™ve been wanting to work with! Your merchandise is quite lovely!

I visited a furniture maker on the Big Island a couple of years ago, and they were selling Koa scraps - I napped two flat-rate boxes worth, and have been working my way through them on my Xcarve. But I would love to get some laser-ready 1/8" Koa blanks, great idea! Iā€™ve put my name down in your signup list.

Aloha! I would like to say in about 2 weeks. Since interest seems high, we are trying to go a little bigger this time, so everyone has a chance to get their hands on some. This requires us to do a bit more legwork, rather than just staying home and sanding up our own excess little pieces; this time, weā€™re driving to Hilo to visit a friend who has some milled stock in a warehouse, then taking that stock to get resawn at a mill, then cutting everything to size and sanding it at our house, so thisā€™ll take some time. Hopefully itā€™ll be worth the wait, however; weā€™re hoping to pick up about 10 board feet of good curly stock, which should provide quite a bit of 1/8th inch thick blanks. We will give an update when weā€™re getting close, and share a few pictures of the process. Mahalo!

Might be worth checking to see if people need these sanded or if rough sawn would be sufficient. Sanding takes a disproportionate amount of time to get done - your throughout would be much higher if the recipients sanded it for themselves. Theyā€™re going to have to finish it anyway.

Youā€™ve done great ā€¦ I received my order and love the wood! I have been looking at it every day and trying to decide whether to cut it now or does it need to wait to adjust to the difference in the humidity here (middle of the USA). I canā€™t decide what to make. I am hoping we can get a thread going showing what people are making from this beautiful wood.

Thank you for the opportunity to try something new and truly beautiful.

Thank you so much for the positive report! That would be amazing if we could get a thread going, Iā€™d love to know where all this Hawaiian Koa is ending up in the world. Mahalo!

I got my order the other day, and itā€™s awesome! I canā€™t wait to play with it, I have some ideas for what to do. Itā€™s really nicely finished and matched. Thanks for making this available!

My order came in and is awesome. I would really like to see 1/4" big area pieces,

Very glad you like your Koa! There are quite a few 12x9 panels of Koa still available, but there was no way for us to go any bigger than that. Have fun!
