It’s a Harry Potter Wedding

A friend of mine and her husband are massive Potterheads. It’s how we became friends actually. :joy: So when they announced their wedding date she and I started brainstorming pieces that I could make for the wedding. It was supposed to be last year but then covid so it was rescheduled for the 21st of this month. It went off without a hitch. I was a little nervous as I had to ship it in a huge box from Portland to New Jersey but everything made it in perfect condition. I just had to share because everything looked so perfect!

I also have to give a huge shout out and thank you to @kiwistudios for sharing the German candle spinner. Mine magically morphed into Hogwarts but I couldn’t have done it without the idea and basic design that was shared! I also had to put in a motor because the venue decided they didn’t like the idea of the open flame near the wooden fan. But…I’m going to be working on a Yule ball theme for Christmas and am going to illustrate the characters this time.

I’ll stop babbling and get to the photos.

First the outdoor signs

Table “Class” Signs

Acrylic Card box

Large Time Turner

Alternative Hogwarts Starry Night guestbook

And Finally the SPINNER!

Wow, just WOW!!! What a phenomenal amount of clever, unique and individual designs. I don’t think I have ever seen such a collection of disparate but brilliantly executed designs done with a GF.

Stunning.

Wow. It looks like you used all the extra time the wedding delay offered making stuff. It’s like Diagon Alley exploded :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

A stunning array of Potter goodness! Delighted to have been an oh-so-small part of it all.

You were a massive part. As soon as you posted your original design, I knew I wanted to make an HP version. I’ll make sure to share the Yule ball version with the actual candles when I finish it.

So awesome and clever. You could sell such a pack for a pretty penny on Etsy!

I’m not a fan of selling the licensed material but I’m sure it would.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I can’t even IMAGINE the amount of time it took you to produce all those items!?!?! And everything looks FANTASTIC! It’s nice having friends like you with a Glowforge. Nicely done!

Lovely stuff! I feel like their names could be a drink, or a potion… Bobash (Bow-bash) sounds like a HP name

Everything is fabulous, the tables being the different classrooms is brilliant - but that guestbook wins for me. Gorgeous art and imagining it filled with stars, that’s definitely going to hang on a wall at home and make them smile every time they walk by!

I actually have my business license. I was planning on ramping up the catalog and business so I could hit the ground running when my youngest went to kinder and then covid hit and we’ve been homeschooling since. Thankfully they’re back full time. I just kind of got set back by two years. :joy: Blessing and a curse really. Im excited to focus on production and do more creative artsy pieces on the side. I also have a small kiln and am working on combining my glass and wood pieces with the GF.
