JD Gift Box

Very simple birthday gift box made with red oak craft plywood from KJP Select Hardwoods for a friend. I loved how this turned out and how simple wooden boxes can really elevate a gift. Lined it with some red faux suede.

Saw the 50 and assumed single barrel for some reason.
First jug of single barrel came from helping a guy with his computer.
Never went back.

Regardless, I am sure it will be loved and you are right, the container sets it off better than just plopping a bottle down.

The hinges and the latch are perfect, with the nice added touch of red inside. Fantastic gift for a lucky friend.

You call it a “simple box” but it is a lovely gift itself! Not just what is inside!

Love the hinges and the lining. Beautiful wood choice.

@pubultrastar Thank you so much for the compliment! These latches are so cute and they were really inexpensive. I felt they were necessary also otherwise the bottle might fall out and smash.

@bill.m.davis Appreciate this, I was so unsure about the wood beforehand but it looked excellent when done.

@Mel and @cynd11 - thank you to you both as well <3

What a well-designed gift this is. The bonus is that long after the bottle is empty and gone, the box will remain.
