I created “The Bee Keeper” for an exhibition this winter. It’s made from wire, gold leaf, tar, laser cut, acrylic and dura-lar. It’s human size and there is one motor that controls all the motion.
This is stunning.
Welcome to the community!
He is magnificent!! That original work is glorious!
Art - The conveyance of spirit by means of matter… And you nailed it.
I am intrigued by the mechanism of it all driven by only one motor. A series of cams in the base?
What a fascinating, mesmerizing, and wonderful piece of art…as are the several others that I looked at. Thank you so much for showing us… and welcome to the community.
Thank you
Thank you. It’s one cam rotating inside a circle pulling threads through brass coils.
Stunning is the right word! WOW.
This is just outstanding.
New username, I remember your previous pieces using dura-lar:
That’s beyond incredible; I’ve never seen anything like it.
pulling threads through brass coils
Can I ask, what kind of thread is durable enough for the purpose?
Yeah that’s my art that was a work account
It’s 30 pound monofilament. It holds up pretty well
Thank you for sharing this. It was the first thing I saw this morning, and you really started my day with beauty. Where will the sculpture be exhibited this winter?
Gobsmacked! I would love to see how the work is done on this.
Looks amazing
