I am wanting to know if it is safe to use the glowforge on Kraft paper
Yes.
Yes, you can cut, score and engrave all kinds of paper products (paper, cardstock, chipboard, cardboard, etc). It’s all safe for the laser, just be sure you watch the job since paper products can also be set on fire.
Here’s a kraft cover notebook I engraved with the Glowforge:
Do you have a link to those notebooks?
Also do you remember what settings you used to engrave these
2000 speed, full power, 270 LPI.
Your Glowforge Basic is not capable of 2000 speed, so you’ll have to figure out your own settings.
Engraved correct?
Yes. Cuts and scores only have two settings: speed and power. Engraves have a third (and sometimes more): LPI or lines per inch.
