my laser stopped cutting mid cut. the arm moves as if its cutting and sounds as if it is cutting, but no laser is coming out. i opened up the printer head and checked the mirror; all seems to be well. what next?
This could be a few things. Go through the help page that applies to you here, under “print isn’t marking material” – there are two pages for the two major classes of Glowforge models.

There is an issue where the high voltage wire shorts out. It sounds like that happened to you. If you search for “red wire” issue you will find other posts regarding this. There are some Youtube videos demonstrating repairs.
