Laser Dyeing Textiles

I saw this post the other day:

… which is about a process using a UV laser, which the Glowforge is not. It made me wonder, though, if there might be something similar that would react via heat or CO2 laser wavelengths. I have done (non-laser) stuff with dye sublimation heat transfers to polyester and, with heat-set dyes. So, it seems plausible. Of course, I am not the only one to wonder:

I thought I would pass along the thought and links because of the others here who seem interested in textile work. It’s in the range of stuff I am likely to not get to myself any time soon.

Ever since I got my Glowforge, I’ve been seeing advertisements for all kinds of interesting machines. UV printers were one of them.
