Laser head is moving around but laser is not firing. Cut was running fine then there was a click noise and laser stopped firing. Power is not set to zero and last cut was around 7:30pm EST on 10/20/25. Mirrors were checked and there is no cracking or melting. Please assist, thank you!
Sounds like either the power supply or tube itself has failed. It’s possible it’s a cabling issue, I recall reading about “the red wire” on the left side of the tube.
Although many owners have had their machines function much longer, 4 or 5 years is a fairly decent lifespan for it. Wiregrass seems to have the most reasonable repair options these days.
I think you’re right, I swapped the laser head and carriage plate from my other machine (which is also broken) and that did not help so I believe it is the power supply or the tube.
It is either a short of the red wire or the power supply.
I completed the Gift of Good Measure Print this morning around 6:40am EST with no luck. I have a video of the machine not working but it is too large to upload here. Glowforge, please contact me with assistance, thanks.
