Lasering food!?!

Hey so I noticed in the ad copy on Amazon that “food” is listed as one of the materials that can be used in the glowforge aura. Does anyone know what this is referring to?

Engrave on thin things like cookies and crackers (you could fit something thicker like a pie into the bigger GFs, but not the Aura) or cut thin things like nori/seaweed sheets, soy paper, rice paper, icing sheets, etc.

The caveat is that once you use a Glowforge for non-food, you shouldn’t use it for food because it’s impossible to get all traces of the toxic fumes out.

You can certainly attempt anything. I tried chocolate with no success at all. I tried white bread and it marked it wonderfully, but it didn’t taste good.
