I think the air assist keeps crud off the lens much better than the camera.

I would suggest cleaning the camera as needed and trying to clean the lens less often

I agree completely.

In the 2.5 years I’ve owned my machine, I’ve cleaned the camera, windows, etc. probably 2 dozen times. I’ve removed and cleaned the lens ONCE. And looking at it before cleaning it looked clear as could be. Looking at the wipe afterwards and there wasn’t a hint of dirt removed.
