In that post are a couple of pictures. Instead of gluing “in-place” with the lid still on the machine, I removed the lid and hinges. That simplified the process of cleaning and gluing greatly. Just make sure you unclip the black cable before removing the lid, you don’t want to yank on it.
Overall, I don’t remember this being a hard process at all. The foot-dragging before doing it was the hardest part.
