Material Thickness Error on non proofgrade

Getting this error on non proof-grade material metal dog tags that I have been able to engrave in the past the thickness is set for 0.035 I have changes it to .03, 0.03 and still the same the red dot is hitting the material. I’ve even but a piece of paper on the bottom . Any help ?

Is the red dot (really an elongated bar) fully on the material. Not partially on it. Also are the metal tags shiny, or very dark?. The lid camera has to fully decern the length of the dot from the background. Might try to mask the tag to see if that corrects the error.

Ok folks ready for a quick New Years laugh there seems that when I cleaned the lens last a small magnet got attached to the bottom and it was lifted. Thank you all for the input

That’s hilarious! And this needs to be added to the things to check when people see this error.
