Does anyone know if Metallic Dura-lar is safe for lasers? I know the clear is but not sure because there is aluminum in the metallic.

In terms of
safety, it’ll probably be fine since it’s polyester film. Metallic foils can sometimes be hard to cut though, I have metallic cardstock and the paper backing cuts just fine, but the foil shrugs the laser off. The parts “punch out” really cleanly, maybe the dura-lar would do the same? One way to find out.

So I made that mask (see MOAG) and part of it used gold cardstock.

What’s interesting about it is that it just can’t cut all the way through. The metallic layer appears to be actual metal foil. This led to an interesting method:
