Mini baseball bats

Hi! Has anyone ever engraved a mini baseball bat? 18" long and a little less than 1.5" thick? I’m wondering if it can be done without having to rotate. Also, what do you use to keep the bat in place while engraving? Thank you.

Did half a pool cue. It’s longer then 18” but only .5”-1” thick. 1.5” wouldn’t be an issue though.
