It’s cut and layer. We used walnut stain on the bottom piece. Although you just gave me an idea for my approach to the river. Thanks!

Nashville is the one city that no matter how many times I go I still manage to get totally lost. Every. Last. Time. At least this map would be more enjoyable to look at while I figured out where I went wrong
