Sounds like a long while until you can afford to not have one!
Although I have to admit my GF has been lasering for hours today making leather hat patches for a wedding party (haven’t loved the leather patch on the Eufymake although I have seen some amazing ones), along with other leatherette accessories. Really liking the Lonestar Adhesives items, they laser super cleanly once you have the setting down (happy to provide - the thin natural leather blasts right through it), and the cleanup is so simple. I wish I could turn off air-assist (they recommend) as it tends to spray the material requiring more cleanup. But just wash it in LA Awesome and it is super clean.
Dad requested another birdhouse for Father’s Day, so I designed and 3D printed this birdhouse with ASA filament and added an old license plate for a roof. The graphics are from creative fabrica and uv printed on the Eufy.
Gorgeous! Love the stone look. Is it hard to get the UV print where you want it (not just on this birdhouse, but on anything)? I’m so jealous of your UV printer right now!
Needed a quick something for a friend’s 20th anniversary party, so these are leatherette patches from Lonestar Adhesives and then UV printed using the flexible ink. I used the AI in the app to change the art to look embroidered, and then did a pattern relief.
I guess compared to what? It smells about the same as my FormLabs Form3 when it’s printing. There is an upcoming active vent that will let you exhaust the filter’s output to somewhere, but since it is only 10’ away from my Form3 it’s not that different? YMMV of course depending on how sensitive you are to it.
The formlab resins are a different chemistry from all other resins for 3d printing and are considerably less noxious. The formlab resins are more expensive than the competition and some say the resulting prints from the formlab resins are not as strong.
I mean their tough resins are pretty darned tough, I’ve made milling fixtures where I’m chewing 316L stainless without having 3D printed soft-jaws failing. Admittedly most of my prints are in grey resin which is very rigid so not particularly tough.
