No Man's Sky Monolith

Any No Man’s Sky players in the group?

This is based on a portal monolith from the game (your basic Stargate):

It’s layers of Birch ply with an LED ring and a little XIAO SAMD21 controller inside. Touching the copper disc at the foot of the stairs changes between 3 modes on the LED ring: A chase around the ring in various colors, a slow pulse in various colors or a sort of firefly random effect (Or everything off).

I love No Man’s Sky, just wish I had more time to play it… (it has been a long while)

Same here… probably at least three years since I played. Need to check out all the changes from the last dozen or so updates!

I don’t play the game (and actually never heard of it as I’m not a gamer at all), but I love all the Stargate movie and series. This is really cool! You did a great job!

If you haven’t, some day try it in VR. It’s amazing.

And that’s a great replica!

That’s impressive, and I’m not even a gamer! Nice addition of the touch plate.

I tried it in VR but couldn’t get a handle on the ship controls. If I could play VR and still use the mouse and keyboard I totally would!

Personally, I love the game. It’s much more chill than an average twitch game. A very different feel. More exploring and a bit less “pew, pew, pew!”

I liked the VR aspect, but I never really played the kind of game where you have to go mine 6 flutriums to make a zoglorp etc. It got old quickly - this is a me problem.

It’s essentially a crafting/exploration game that is very chill. It had an epically mishandled launch, but the developers have been updating it with quality content ever since. I haven’t fired it up in a year or so, but I keep meaning to.

That is awesome. Nice work.
I haven’t played that game in quite a while. Really liked the open do whatever and go wherever space exploration and planet exploration.

Thats awesome. You might be able to incorporate a wireless charger into it, like maybe in the base .
