My glowforge looses alignment on circles. 1st past is good 2nd pass it moves to the left, 3rd pass moves again.

I do not know the specifics but I have seen that issue before. What happens is that when the machine starts it records where it is and calculates everything from that, If something restrains the laser head then that throws its zero-zero off by that amount so a circle made before that restraint will be in a different place.
Whatever the cause I think that is what you are seeing. I understand that folks are saying that the horizontal rail needs to be very clean,
