Orange/Amber light after almost every print

My oldest machine is starting to have some issues. After nearly every print the machine cools down but the light glows orange/amber. Sometimes it makes noise like the machine is still running, and sometimes it doesn’t. Usually things are fine after I restart but restarting after every print is not great.

Things I have tried:

  1. cleaned everything
  2. made sure all the connections are secure
  3. cleaned the top and made sure no stray light is interfering.

Any other ideas?

That is typically a sign of hardware failure. Contact support, they can check the logs and hopefully determine the problem, or at least offer more focused advice.

Does ‘Everything’ include ensuring the exhaust fan grill is unobstructed? An occluded exhaust fan grill is the only time I ever got a cool-down message. If the coolant resiviore is low it could happen, but you would have been seeing bubbles in the tube by then. It would also be possible for the intake, under the right-hand side to be blocked. If you are venting into a filter that might indicate time for a replacement.

I’ve had the amber light when it has overheated, but that doesn’t seem to be the case this time. I clean that back fan regularly - at least once a week - and I don’t think that’s the issue.

That’s what I was afraid of. I’ll do that - thank you!
