I have an orange light. From my research, I deduce that [something] is wrong with my glowforge. After following the troubleshooting measures on several posts here, I figure the issue is the related to the burn on this connection on this circuit board. Was hoping to be able to finish a project for a friend’s birthday in two weeks. Think we can get it fixed in that time?
This is the Community Support area where other owners can help chase down the problem. The company support folks do not follow here. The support page to contact them is here. Unfortunately, this is Friday evening and they generally keep regular Pacific Time office hours so will probably not be available til Monday.
You can go here and post or talk to folk there and pick up a lot more info.
If that is a short of some sort, the folks at Glowforge will have a lot of data that may show more detail. You will likely be given an estimate of the cost of repair, shipping, etc., and can get a refurbished machine for that amount in exchange for your broken machine which will be refurbished, or just lately (I think) you can have your machine refurbished for what the actual costs turn out to be and the extra months it will take.
In either case, any result will take longer than two weeks. If you have a local friend, craft group, or library that has a working machine that would be the best way to solve the issue in the two weeks.
It might be worthwhile to find out if they’re are other owners, or your local library or Maker Space has one you can get time on. A short is likely to be a return and repair which is generally closer to 6 weeks.
