compared to the first image, you lose some contrast with the darker wood and the near black char edges that you have in the original. at least that’s my first reaction. it could be the lighting, tho.

I keep thinking you could engrave the detailed background as a base layer.

Try the translucent acrylic from inventables…

This is magnificent. I’m a diver and have been fortunate to spend time observing jellyfish (and well as avoiding them!).

Love it, maybe instead of going darker with wood add some detailed engraving.
