Using Save As or Save Copy, with the following settings, should give you a good SVG file from AI. This is how I found to be able to export an SVG and drag-and-drop it into Discourse, without having to do any fiddly bits with the code to have it display correctly and the right size. I would love confirmation that this file saving setup renders well into the GFUI.
