Well, it is in the office. That is something. They are probably preparing a viewing room for it.
This is absolutely gorgeous! All a the tiles are fantastic, but this, this is amazing piece of work! Well done. And well done to all who worked on this project.
It looks like some blue monster is trying to eat it. (or least lick it).
I happy to see that my piece is behaving and not warping or popping strips of wood.
“fish guts” - front and center, albeit upside down!
Wow! This is amazing; the effort and sentiment behind this project is just awe inspiring.
Everytime I look at this I’m wowed by how incredible it is, magical in fact
I just went through my book of this and then through the thread and it still gives me goosebumps.
Yeah this is a great #necrogame post.
I still watch the reveal video from time to time. Loved seeing the surprise and excitement in opening the box and then exploring the faces!
rewatching it while i eat lunch today. so much fun.
Was a fun project for sure.
thinking of doing something similar for my art director of the past 17 years who’s leaving the company in a couple of weeks. that made me come look for this thread.
The reactions are still fun to watch.
I was supposed to go to bed an hour ago, but I had to rewatch - and then re-read all the comments. I loved doing this, and the joy on everybody’s faces made is SO much better!
Ya’ll really rock (both folk and all the folks involved in the build + others). This forum rocks
I’ve probably said this but I’m not going to search to see. This is the best group project I ever participated in.
I don’t think I ever shared more details on my tile. I went back and found a pre-glue photo that lets you read the full quote, otherwise only visible if you rotate the mechanism!
The T-shaped “key” is held in magnetically, and you pop it out like this:
And truly behind the scenes, here’s the back of the tile:
I had forgotten until this very moment that my forum avatar is a recolored version of the “TJE” on the back of the tile.
Of all the tiles…
Forgive the ignorance @timjedwards, but where is that quote from? Blade Runner?
yup, that’s rutger hauer’s quote.
It’s a single line from cinema’s greatest monolog.
It’s not as powerful without the movie leading up to it but here is the scene.
