The first photo is how the original piece was cut out without moving the inner circle. If i orientate the circle onto the other end you can see it does not fit completely on the center. My assumption is that the air assist fan is blowing the flames into wood edges hence making it not cut straight as the flames are burning the top side. I thought it might be the kerf but it is not possible since when used on other pieces the orientation fits well on the unburnt edges
Here are two more examples where the hexagon when the orientation is flipped does not fit snug
