Just got a replacement, and the new Glowforge is having an odd issue the last one did not. On the cuts, including proofgrade, it seems that the laser is getting surges in power, making the cuts have dots. It’s pretty consistent in distance, and almost makes me think it’s the motors having stepping issues. Anyone else have this? If so, how did you solve it?
That’s flashback from the laser hitting the honeycomb tray and reflecting back onto the piece. Reducing power just a hair reduces it.
AH! Thanks so much! I love it when a solution is simple and easy.
Even if it was staring me in the face and I didn’t see it.
Thanks for the answer @mpipes, that’s right. I’m going to close this thread - if the problem reoccurs, go ahead and post a new topic. Thanks for letting us know about this!
