Prime day 2023!

What awesome things are you getting today??? I ordered a 65w usbc charger, and a new compost bin.

And here I was thinking it was just another 7-11.

Though 7 - 11- & 23 are all primes

Haha— I was at the DMV this morning to get my drivers license renewed. I figured it would be a good time to avoid crowds, as everybody would be glued to their computer screens, shopping away. I was wrong, there were quite a few folks in line.

I did order some nuts for snacking. Oh, and an iPad mini.

I’m considering pulling the trigger on a 3d printer

Don’t forget to use https://camelcamelcamel.com to verify the ā€œsaleā€ prices on amazon.

Here’s an example: the banker monopoly set. They claim it’s 46% off at 14.99, so you got camel and look at the history:

And you can see that it’s a discount, but not one that hasn’t come up before. Caveat emptor!

I’m looking at some digital picture frames that I already had on my wishlist, and a projector  Haven’t pulled the trigger yet though!

So far I haven’t found any sales on things I need, despite many ā€œPrime Day Dealsā€ labels.

They’re the same prices they were yesterday.

Well, I’m one of those suckers who have purchased quite a few things today. Just can’t decide on the apple watch. I have one but it’s been on the fritz several times where I’m thinking I’m going to have to get a new one…so not sure if I should just go ahead and get it while it’s on sale!

As far as I’m concerned, Mr. Bezos can do his own marketing.

I did some shopping for my dog today. She is allergic to a bunch of stuff, so I got the 5Strands test to see if she has grown into / out of anything. Also a chamber vacuum sealer for the freeze dried beef that she is definaitely not allergic to.
And tennis balls. There are never enough tennis balls, especially when I keep throwing them over the edge of the cliff…

Me too  But it’s stuff that I’ve had on my list anyway, just waiting for PD or Black Friday sales. I refuse to buy anything that’s not at least 30% off (or gets there with one of the coupons that Amazon tosses on some items). Some of it is stuff I’m going to need for the new house and I know if I go back in 3 months and buy it at whatever the price is then (most probably higher) I’ll be mad at my previous me.

@evansd2 is spot on about camelcamelcamel - I got a new robot vacuum for 699 that was supposed to be marked down from 1899. That may be the MSRP but it’s been selling for 999 on Amazon. So good deal but not the earthshattering great deal. There was a 50 coupon code so I got it for 650 which I’m okay with. :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve been on camelcamelcamel for years. The charts can be quite revealing.

I have been using something similar to track Amazon… https://keepa.com

Nice! If you haven’t seen it they have a chrome plugin that lets you one click comparisons while on the amazon page too. Pretty slick. Probably one for Firefox too?

My two purchases were on the ā€˜cheap’…4 new bath hand towels and a very inexpensive ($60) desk / work table for my studio. When I’m gluing, weeding, painting, coloring,…in other words physically working on laser stuff I don’t like doing it where my computer, keyboard, printers, etc. are. I needed a larger, dedicated work space.

I’ve been holding off on getting my next Yeedi. It’s been $799 with a $300 coupon for a while. Today it was 30% off plus a $60 coupon…ending up at exactly the same price. It’s things like coupons that camelcamelcamel, Honey (what I use), and others miss :-/ I’m going to get it eventually…maybe with my next tax refund!

What make and model do you have you sights on?

I’m torn between a resin printer for making minis but I’m also torn because if I get a PLA based printer like an ender 3 or something like that, I can do bigger things but with less detail
