Problems with new software update May 5 - please read height distance is miscalculated

The latest update to the Glowforge web app changed something where the height distance is miscalculated. It looks like the autofocus measured height is added to the value you enter for unknown materials resulting in a very poor quality chared cut, and since it’s out of focus, way more power is required and etching is almost 1mm wide. Plus the edge of the cut is angled not straight (huge clue for the problem)

Also, you can’t enter 0 for the hight, which in the past just caused auto focus to just work. Entering 0.01 seems to work

Are you sure you don’t have the lens in upside down?

The interface changes that occurred quite some time ago did not change anything relative to focusing. Your problem is not with the app, but something else. If you enter a manual height, auto focus is disabled. If you don’t enter a manual height, auto focus is the default. In my experience, you could not enter a manual height of 0, but you could enter .001" up to .5". This is still the case.
