Replacing tension pulley wheel

Hi. I’m replacing the right-side pulley wheel that tensions the carriage belt. All has gone back together correctly – wheel facing the right direction, washer on top … but when I tighten it the least bit, the wheel doesn’t turn freely – so the belt just slides against it instead of turning the wheel. The wheel is OEM from Glowforge. Any ideas?

I think you need to remove the wheel and double check everything. The grooved ridge of the pulley must be on the same side as the washer, and the washer must be between the pulley and the laser arm.

Thanks. So, to be sure I understand: Should the recessed side of the wheel, the side with the larger lip, face upward?

Thanks a million. I had the wheel upside down. Now it’s turning freely!
