Rubber stamp material shredding?

Has anyone run into this before? This is the 2nd time this has happened to me with this batch of laser rubber stamp material I bought. I don’t know if I should let it run itself out, or if its just a waste of time. Don’t know if it’s the material or the machine. Basicallly I don’t know nothing. If you notice in the pictures you can see little strips of rubber being spit to the back of the machine.

To me it looks like defective rubber. Like there is a layer of air embedded linearly across the material in the center, and when you engrave through the top of it, it comes loose and shoots away with the air assist blowing on it. I’d return for a refund.
