Show us your Glowforge space!

OMG, thank you for those pics! Assures me I am not alone.
My space looks like the result of a grenade. It persists until I can’t find what I’m looking for, then it’s all stop.
I clean and organize so it can begin again.

@mpipes, that’s when I find a buried item I just bought again…

If you end up going through Phoenix, there are some recommendations I can make on food/beer.

We are headed north, Salt Lake City, then over through South Dakota, but thanks!

I’ve had the space set for a long time, and the GlowForge will join my printers, die cutter, 3D printer, laminator and model rocket in it’s place of honor, right near the window to vent. Come on email!!!

Whatever path you take the southwest will be warm. Vegas is showing only five degrees cooler than Phoenix. Have a safe trip and if you do more than breeze through Vegas let me know.

That’s how I own 6 tape measures and still end up borrowing the GF’s because she knows where hers is.

Mine will go on the bay window until it gets the air filter. Not a lot of window options in the apartment that can donated for the cause. The big gmax 3d printer is normally on the other side, the surface is so stable!

We arrived in Vegas at noon on Friday, got a room at the Grand Palace Casino ($59), and crashed till midnight. Left in 90 degree weather. Made it to Rock Springs Wyoming that day.

6 days on the road in total. No serious breakdowns. Not bad for a $2700 30yo VW.

Our FB page is @wagonseast if anyone wants to follow it!

I’ve been working on my space. The Subfloor went in yesterday, and I studded the walls in today. I’ll do electrical and insulation tomorrow.

Best case scenario is to bring your area out of the hole from square one by your own design. Blank canvas.

I’d be turning that into a beer/wine cellar but glowforge home works also :innocent:

Move in Day! I still have some trim work to do and I need to sand the floor and put down some extra coats of urethane, but it was done enough to move in! I’m ready for that Glowforge NOW!

that looks great. are you going to sand / coat the floor in stages, then, slowly moving your desk and things around?

I may move things into the other rooms while I sand and coat. Advantech is in no way designed to do this, so the extra sanding step is required for a gloss finish.

Here’s my “new” Glowforge space. Had a space carved out in my shop in the basement for it but the best laid plans . . . Nephew lost his living arrangement and moved in temporarily so I’ve been relegated to a space in the laundry room. It works but not quite the same.

Also had to set up my PS4 so I could have something to do during long prints.

Love the fact you can look outside and feel like you are in hole or cave.

I’ve gotten used to the Batcave downstairs. It wouldn’t be so bad but all my tools are there and my nephew keeps unorthodox hours.

Lot of work to relocate… in my case the Nephew would have to adapt. Good on you for taking him in.
I see there is room for the 'forge. :sunglasses:

Yeah, made it so I could spin the forge to more effectively utilize the pass through slot. New location doesn’t really have the clearance but I’ll make it work.
